EMILY DUGGAN will perform double driving duties this year, confirming her entry to the 2019 Kumho Tyre Super 3 series alongside her existing campaign for the 2019 Toyota 86 Racing Series.

Both commence this weekend at the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint in Victoria.

“We tried to get this off the ground in 2016 but we didn’t have the profile or the commercial foot print to carry it through to make a full season.” She said.

“I’m so glad to secure the required backing from Surelince group services and another sponsor that will be coming on board later in the season that we’re really excited to be working with.

“As a D2bD ambassador I want to keep pushing the envelope in motorsport and show other girls that if you have a passion and you work hard, you can get there.”

“I’m so grateful for the additional support from Caradvice.com, GearWrench, Penrite, The Transcription People and Homelend Solutions”

This weekend’s race schedule see three back to back sessions – including, Qualifying and races 1 and 2.

“It’s going to be a very busy weekend, I know the challenges that lie ahead but I feel like we need to be there for the first round of both series if were going to achieve a result for all our corporate partners,” she explained.

“The driving style and requirements are similar for both cars, Yes the Super3 car is a lot faster but after completing my first test day today in the Super3 car, I feel confident that what I have learnt racing in the Toyota 86 Racing Series will transition into the Supercar.”

Being recently awarded a scholarship for the Paul Morris Racing Academy, Duggan says she is taking the opportunity with both hands and is appreciative of the three times Bathurst winners support and knowledge.

“Access to Paul’s experience and knowledge has fast tracked my progress on my first super3 test day, he’s been amazing to talk with and I feel a lot more confident in my approach to the weekend.”
